British Bands

Ever since the Beatles, it seems that music has been different. Very often, new British bands or British styles have completely changed the styles that people listened to in other countries. I think that we owe all in "True Music" today to what British bands have played over the years. From rock to metal to pop, it seems that Britain was the leader in defining the direction of many styles. It's so hard to say that any certain British band is my favorite, but there are probably many out there with one British band/musician that they can say is their absolute favorite.

Untimely Passings

Why is it that so often, great musicians pass away? It hasn't always been drugs. There has been cancer, plane crashes, auto accidents. Why does it always go after many of the great ones, yet those mediochre ones are left to pump out their trash? Bob Marley never deserved the cancer that spread from his foot to the rest of his body. Cliff Burton of Metallica died in a bus turnover. I begin to wonder what would have been if many of my favorites had never died.

Katrina

This has nothing to do with music, but is about a topic I feel strongly about: the current monkeys presiding over the U.S. gov't. The post compares election year response with non-election year response. Could it have been much less of a tragedy? The answer is yes and this post helps explain why. I feel bad for the quarter of the population of the region that didn't even have a car or car rental money to leave the area. I wish peace to all those who perished.
